Overview of Saudi Arabia and the Red Sea:
The Red Sea is bordered by seven countries (Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Jordan, and Yemen). This expedition is working in partnership with a variety of organizations from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Kingdom comprises about four-fifths of the Arabian Peninsula, bordered on the west by the Red Sea, on the south by the Indian Ocean and on the east by the Arabian Gulf.

The Kingdom itself is bordered to the north by the countries of Jordan, Iraq and Kuwait; to the east by Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates; to the south by the Sultanate of Oman and Yemen; and to the west by just the Red Sea.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has a population of over 26 million people (2005), with the Capital City (Riyadh) hosting 3 million of its people. The culture revolves strongly around the religion of Islam. Its official language is Arabic, although English is widely spoken.
